July 12, 2021: Dr. Enrique Lara has led an international study, recently published in the European Journal of Protistology, on the diversity of Arcellinida, and other estate amoebae, in Tierra del Fuego peatlands (Argentina). Having recorded numerous species, many of them probably new to science, the results of this investigation demonstrate that the number of Gondwanian and Neotropical endemic testate amoeba may be substantially higher than currently known.
