February 12, 2015: This article reports the discovery of a new species of the order Physarales from Peru and Argentina. It includes both morphological and molecular data as well as some life cycle observations. A phylogenetic analysis supports its identity as a new species and interestingly, collections were found at almost 5 000 m elevation, virtually unknown for this group of organisms.
